Title: 10.04.1.2 Update or New Install ?
Post by: Rodney9 on August 29, 2010, 06:28:04 am
I see 10.04.1.2 is available, do we need to download and install this or are the updates in my version 10.4.1 taking me up to 10.04.1.2  ?

Thanks for a Super OS
Rodney

I would like it if everyone was running 10.04.2 but if you are not having any problems then there is no need to update. I just wanted to be 100% happy with it before I went off and started work on 10.10.

At the moment there is no way to upgrade the system from one version to another. I did this so people wouldn't have any problems with old settings or redundant programs that where removed or changed in later versions.

When 10.10 comes out I will name them properly. I will bring out an Alpha for a select few to try, then I will release an open Beta, then probably a Beta2 depending on how many bugs are in the first Beta, then the RC then the final release.

How the current versions should of been named is 10.04 should of been the Alpha, 10.04.1 would of been the Beta and 10.04.1.1 the RC and 10.04.1.2 the final release.

Sounds like a good plan Pinguy.  :)

Thanks Pinguy, I have downloaded and installed 10.04.1.2, curiously though if you load the DVD it is called Pinguy 10.04.1.1 i686

The only differences I can see so far are -
Added screen-savers, nice
Missing Thunderbird Dictionary, no doubt  so we can add our own language.
