Enable 3D effects. Go to applications/ appearance then choose effects, and enable 'extra' or 'custom' effects. Your X window system will probably check for drivers.  Alternatively, go to applications/ compiz manager and turn on effects there. Have fun playing around.

Everything you need is already installed. Check your Home folder, hit contol + h, and you'll see a bunch of files you might not have seen before (these are hidden files). Scroll down until you get past the folders and come to .txt files. There you will notice the .conkyrc, .conkyForecast.config and .draw_bg.lua files. double click on one of these and instead of choosing 'run' @ the prompt, choose 'display'. You'll notice the files open in an editor called gedit. Good. Now you can edit as per Pinguy's instructions following the links above. You won't need to do much configuration or editing, as Pinguy has the conky mostly set-up already.

Hope that clears some confusion. It's really easier than it seems...

At every start a got the message: "Docky requires compositing to work properly. Certain options are disabled and themes/animations will look incorrect".
What I should do to fix it?

Open Tickets / Install Pinguy alongside Windows?
« Last post by skitzo_inc on September 28, 2010, 06:14:06 pm »
When I was using ubuntu, which had many issues, it allowed me to install inside windows using Wubi. Pinguy OS, while AWESOME, does not let me do that. When I install it on a partition I can choose between windows or linux, but when I choose windows it does a disk check and then starts windows. When I reboot it tells me "no module found, press any key to abort"

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Open Tickets / PinguyOS with intel chipset graphics
« Last post by LovlySuicide on September 28, 2010, 05:15:52 pm »
Hey there,
I'd really like to use PinguyOS on my Laptop, but it seems that the installed intel 885gm chipset is to slow or something. Everything goes well on startup, but when I open a window (for example in nautilus) the processes "Xorg" and "conky"  take ~99% of my CPU-speed. I guess that's because of the graphics? CPU is Celeron D @1,6Ghz. 512MB RAM, enough HDD :)

If I'm wrong, just tell me. If I'm right please help, PinguyOS is very lovely :D

[totally tongue in cheek comment..no flames please..]

The most obvious and well, exciting thing about the branded version is the extent and exquisite nature of the branded artwork which will enhance the overall user experience.  The artwork additions place PinguyOS firmly at the front of all OS design, leaving the likes of apple to finally see where they have failed to provide true design inspired hardware and software for so many years.  PinguyOS Branded not only pushes the boundaries of GUI design but puts a new mark in the sand for others as a challenge.  Never since the clash of the titans has there been such a powerful struggle of design.

PinguyOS Branded is what the doctor ordered and administered to relieve all your ills.  With PinguyOs Branded you will rest at night experiencing a sleep so deep and refreshing only baby lambs could understand.

There is no other
