GConf being replaced by dconf in Ubuntu 10.10
« on: September 24, 2010, 08:29:55 am »
This has to be one of the most stupidest moves by Canonical. I just started to do some more work on 10.10 when I realised that my GConf settings for programs weren't working, after a bit of digging around I found out why. Ubuntu 10.10 doesn't use GConf . Instead it uses dconf.

So all of my modifications I have done for 10.04 will have to be re-done from scratch. I could just re-use Gconf but Canonical wants to use dconf so it would be best to setup the system to use that, otherwise there could be problems later on.
