Five Docky tips for docky-diehards

1. Blur the dock background

Find your Dock theme a bit too see-through? If you're using Compiz and wish to enable blurring can do so with minimal fuss.

  • Open up Compiz-Config-Settings-Manager from the System > Preferences menu
  • Enable 'Blur' by checking the box next to the icon
  • Now click on the blur icon to enter the blur config area
  • Here you want to add Docky to the list of 'Alpha blur windows'. Use either the 'grab' method (by clicking the green cross) or by manually adding 'class=Docky' to the entry field.
