Gnome_Webuilder Applet Problem.
« on: September 15, 2010, 05:34:35 pm »
I am having a small problem with a notification when the desktop screen opens, ' Error-The panel encountered a problem while loading. ?OAFIID: Gnome_Webuilder Applet?  (Do you want to delete or not? ).
I am reasonably sure that it has something to do with the Gnome Global applet. I am not familiar with either  applet or the programme that they belong to but would prefer to rectify the problem  rather than delete it. I have tried reinstalling the Global applet but to no avail.

That applet is for Webuilder (the program that fetches new wallpapers and rotates them automatically). If it is playing up just delete it then put it back on the panel by right clicking "Add to Panel" and find Webuilder.

Thanks PG. I deleted it and then went to "Add to Panel" and hit `Add` and the error notice came up immediately. So I removed it from the panel. I then had a similar message from Global so I have taken that off as well for now. Thing is I am so pleased with everything else and the issue is  not happening on my laptop that is  installed with this OS and from the same live DVD. Only this PC is having the problem. You could close this post for now and I will resurrect the problem in a few weeks if I cannot crack it myself between now and then. Cheers. Btop. ;)

I struck the same problem.  I deleted the Webilder applet, but was left with the Gnome-Applet-Global_Menu, which does not have the option to add applications. So I had to remove the global menu, and then add back the Webilder applet and the the global menu. Everything worked properly after that.
