Hmm... what exactly does Pinguy mean anyway?

My real nick name in life is Pingu because I have flat feet, (don't laugh :) ). As I couldn't use Pingu as my alias because of the cartoon I used Pinguy instead. As Linux mascot is a penguin I just thought Pinguy was a suitable name for a Linux based Distro.

Pinguy is also very easy for people to remember and to spell.

bah, I'm flat footed also, who cares, it's the same has having green or brown eyes... yeah it gives us a distinctive walk, yeah... so? :)

Any way, I like the logo, the proposal of wallpaper is actually quite good. But, not in elementary color scheme... thousands times better then the present default wall on Ubuntu 10.10. LOL

Hi

No not a big fan of the ubuntu style look either, but just wanted to see what it would look like.

Will work on some of the other points you mentioned.

another one ... ... ... ...

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3971551/default%20grey%20faded%20logo.png

With regards to the logos for the menu bar etc this will be based on tango colour scheme so i am guessing we should go blue or dark grey.

currently ubuntu is on this logo but Kubuntu, Lubuntu and Xubuntu are all blue themed so perhaps the grey or even another option altogether would be good to distinguish PINGUYOS?

Tango has a delibrately small range of colours to choose from which helps !

I really like 22x22 grey mint.png but the logo needs to be white/light gray, using a dark theme you can't see the logo as it's transparent, and probably give it a white/light gray thin line around the circle.
The pier over a bay wallpaper with the logo looks really good.

This needs to 24x24 not 22x22.

the 22x22 is for the icon inside the mint menu. For that I was just thinking of using just the logo in black, not inside the circle.

By the way thanks for helping me. I really suck at this sort of thing. Making logos just isn't my thing  :D

EDIT#

Don't worry about the 22x22 image the one that you made looks awesome inside the mint menu. see Desk 1_006.png Just need one by 24x24 now so it looks clearer as the menu button and 64x64 for the GDM login .
I don't need this any time soon. I have only just started 10.10 and it's going to take me a good while before I finish it.

Jason, I only use clean wallpapers, nothing with textures, pictures, photos, anything, maybe a few gradients, if they are delicate and simple enough.

You see I use 2 monitors, and one of them is usually empty, or with small windows, so the wallpaper is staring at me all day, after a while even the simplest one become tiresome and hard to look at.

I loved your recent wallpapers, due to being clean and simple. This one with the concrete, sorry, I can see how well done it is, but, I can't bring myself to use it... :)

Any way, great job, really, really great job.

BTW, I use the Faenza icons with the theme Equinox glass, this last icon, should fit in perfectly... :)

Wow that looks much better.

You have pretty much covered everything. The only one I need now is for the Plymouth Theme.

http://love2spooge.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2vkveo

That's the Plymouth theme Pinguy OS is using. There are two images in there for the Ubuntu logo, they just need changing for the Pinguy OS logo.
Also could you do the squaremintblue.png at 64x64 so I can use it for the GDM login.
