Conky issues
« on: August 31, 2010, 05:42:53 pm »
More for information and incase others are having similar issues.

1) At some point during a session, Conky will decide it wants to sit on top of everything rather than playing nice and sitting behind everything.
2) Sometimes Conky disappears altogether
3) On my PC that has both wireless and ethernet connections it seems to default to showing wireless stats rather than the default and active ethernet connection.
4) Only shows two CPU's on my Quad Core machine.

My solution has been to remove it (even though deep down i want to keep it - it's too complicated for me)!

Later on I will make a script that will walk you though setting up Conky so you won't need to set it up manually.
All the settings are there in the .conkyrc file, hidden in your home folder. I had to turn off most of the settings so it would work on every computer.

Here's the post on how to set it up: http://tinyurl.com/35s2uqu
