File Browser settings
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:57:05 pm »
Pinguy,

Thanks for all you do. This is a great project and I don't know how you keep up with it all.

I have a question about the file browser. When i move files around I like to do it in the same window so I use F3 Extra Pane a lot.  The problem is that I have to do it every time I open a new window. Is there a way to make open with the extra pane option by default?

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

Bill

Sorry no.

Here is the bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/515057

There is a setting in gconf for it, but turning it on does nothing.
Code: [Select]
gconftool-2 --set --type=bool  /apps/nautilus/preferences/start_with_extra_pane true

Hmmmmm, well it was worth a shot. At least it is only a mild annoyance and not truly something broken.

Thank you for the support and the quick response.
