Can't Access Home Network
« on: September 03, 2010, 09:18:40 pm »
I just installed Pinguy on my Acer 3680 laptop. I cannot access my home network. The distro I had before was Ultimate Edition 2.4 - based on Ubuntu 9.10.I could see my hone network and the Windows network separately. Now my home network is shown inside the Windows network. When I try to access my network I get this error - Unable to mount location - Failed to retrieve share list from server. What do I have to do to get into my home network. PS I have a media server on the network. Totem can access to server and play movies from it. Why cant I access it?

I'm not too bright. I forgot to save my original smb.conf file. All I had to do was edit the file and change to MYHOME (the name of my network) from WORKGROUP. I had to do this when I went from 9.04 to 9.10. Next time I'll backup my samba  config file. Thanks.

When something is working, don't FIX it.
