Pinguy Repository
« on: September 12, 2010, 06:57:51 pm »
I think this has been mentioned before but I could not find the discussion. I would like to float the idea of a PinguyOS repo not to replace the Ubuntu repos but in addition to them . Instead of having all the ppa repos; all the apps that Pinguy adds to the distro would be in the PinguyOS repo and updated by the Pinguy team. Then the average user would not have to worry about all the ppa repos which can appear and disappear such as the corn ppa for VLC. It would be much easier for the average user to update and this, it seems to me, to be in line with the PinguyOS philosophy. So you would just have the Ubuntu repos and the Pinguy repo.

I appologize if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find it.

i'm not sure if this is relative to the above post or not but i seem to be having repository issues as well.  update manager keeps giving me the following error : Could not download all repository indexes

don't mean to hijack the thread or anything just thought it might be relevant.

Hi. You may want to look @ these two threads and post there if the problem persists:
